To get yourself started on your motorbike, the first thing you will need is a valid Learner Permit. To get your first learner permit you will need the following:

Completed Application Form (D.201).

Form D.201, Application for Issue or Renewal of a Learer Permit is not available to download as it contains a sticky label. The form may be obtained at the Motor Tax Office or Garda Station. You may also request that the form be posted to you on www.oasis.gov.ie.

Theory Test Certificate.

Birth Certificate/Passport

You will need your birth cert. or passport as a form of identification when applying for your Learner Permit.

An Eyesight Report

When applying for your first Learner Permit, you will need to include an Eyesight Report (Form D.502) completed by an optician. You can download the form here.

Two Passport size photos (signed on the back).
